Manual and hydraulic thumbs built around the excavator for confident control of logs, rock, brush, scrap and demolition material.
01 / WHY ADD A THUMB
A properly matched thumb works with the bucket’s curl to secure irregular material the bucket cannot carry alone.
That means fewer repositioning attempts, better control and more productive handling across clearing, demolition, excavation and cleanup work.
Find your configuration →Choose the control system
Choose the configuration around how often the machine handles material, the operator control required and the preferred mounting system.
A mechanically positioned thumb for dependable gripping without auxiliary hydraulics.
Hydraulic positioning gives the operator faster, more precise control throughout the working range.
A hydraulic thumb configured around the machine for a clean pin-on installation and controlled grip. The required extra-long pin is included.
The extra-long pin required for a pin-on thumb is supplied with that configuration. Standard smooth or serrated fingers can be selected for every thumb type. Other attachment pins remain sold separately.

There is no universally “best” thumb. The strongest choice is the one that matches operating frequency, control needs and installation preference.
Simplified quote setup
For an excavator thumb inquiry, choose the thumb configuration and provide the excavator make and model. The shop will confirm any additional installation details required for the selected build.
Thumb questions
A manual thumb is mechanically positioned and does not require auxiliary hydraulic control. A hydraulic thumb is controlled from the cab and is better suited to frequent or precision material handling.
Select weld-on manual, weld-on hydraulic or pin-on hydraulic, then provide the excavator make and model. East Attachments will request any additional installation information needed.
The pin-on thumb includes the extra-long pin required for that installation. Pins for other thumb configurations or excavator attachments are sold separately.
Excavator thumbs are generally estimated at 10–15 working days. Current shop volume and configuration can change availability.
