EXCAVATOR ATTACHMENTS
FOR Kentucky.
For Kentucky farm and woodland improvements, cutting a tree, removing its stump and gathering brush require different attachment functions. Build the quote around the planned next use of the land, the trees you intend to retain and your excavator’s size.
Decide what stays above ground—and what must come out.
Use this guide to compare tools for selective cutting · stump removal · farm cleanup. The state context below explains the applications; your machine, material and required finish determine the final attachment. These are selection recommendations, not statewide sales rankings.
PRIMARY
RECOMMENDATIONS.
Compare the task each attachment performs, then open the product to review its approved model, fitment, options and lead time.

Tree Shear
A candidate for selective cutting where the chosen shear and carrier suit the tree species and diameter. Cutting the trunk does not remove the root system.

Stumper
Compare a stumper when roots must be removed for the next stage of a farm or property project. Specify root density and working clearance as well as stump diameter.

Excavator Rake
Gather loose roots and brush after cutting or root removal while allowing loose soil to pass through. Choose width around access and machine capacity, not only the area to be cleared.

Will a tree shear finish my Kentucky farm-clearing job?
Only if cutting is the required end result. A shear leaves the stump and roots, so it does not replace a stumper when the next operation requires root removal. Confirm the intended use of the cleared strip before ordering. Give the shop species and diameter information for the shear, then describe whether brush will be gathered with a rake or picked up and relocated.

INQUIRE.
- Say whether the cleared area will be mowed, replanted, excavated or left with cut stumps.
- Provide typical and maximum tree diameters and identify hardwood species when possible.
- Describe fences, retained trees and access openings that limit working width.
- For a farm delivery, include the ZIP code, truck access and unloading equipment when requesting freight.
- Always provide machine make and model, coupler type and required pin-on measurements. See the measurement guide →
