Bucket Fitment Measurements
Before Ordering
The right working width is only part of the order. A useful bucket inquiry also explains how the attachment connects to your excavator.
Start with the machine and mounting arrangement.
Before choosing a bucket, record your excavator’s make, exact model and operating weight. Then identify whether the bucket will mount directly to the machine or connect through a quick coupler. Include the coupler make and model if one is fitted.
These details give the shop a starting point. East Attachments also asks for physical dimensions where required, so the build can be checked against the actual mounting arrangement. A machine name or a similar-looking bucket does not replace those measurements.
Separate working size from fitment.
Desired bucket width and the material you plan to move describe the job. Pin diameters, inside ear width and pin centers describe the connection. Send both sets of information with your inquiry.
If you are unsure which surfaces to measure, start with the excavator attachment fitment guide. Match each value to the labeled dimension instead of sending an unlabeled list of numbers.
The dimensions to have ready.
Main pin and power link pin diameters
Record each requested pin diameter separately in millimeters. Use calipers for the diameter and identify which pin the reading belongs to. Do not substitute a rounded nominal size for the actual measured value.
Inside ear width
Follow the guide’s indicated inside faces for this measurement. An outside-to-outside measurement is a different dimension. Include a straight-on reference photo so the shop can see the surfaces you used.
Pin centers
Record the center-to-center distance between the main pin and power link pin as shown in the guide. Label it as pin centers; a gap between pin edges is not the same measurement.
Quick-coupler information
If your machine uses a coupler, share its identification and clear photos with East Attachments before deciding which dimensions apply. Follow the product-specific instructions supplied for that mounting arrangement.
Make the information easy to review.
Use the site’s measurement guidelines as your reference. Clean dirt and excess grease from measurement points, use calipers for smaller dimensions and a reliable tape for larger distances, and record the requested fitment values in millimeters unless the shop asks otherwise.
Include a wider photo of the linkage or coupler alongside close views of the measured points. If a dimension is unclear or the readings disagree, flag it for the shop instead of guessing. Measurements and photos should describe the same machine and mounting setup.
Your bucket inquiry checklist.
- Excavator make, exact model and operating weight.
- Direct pin-on or quick-coupler mounting; coupler make and model when applicable.
- Main pin diameter, power link pin diameter, inside ear width and pin centers as requested.
- Clear reference photos with each measurement labeled.
- Bucket type, desired working width, ground conditions and requested options.
- Whether you need pins, plus delivery destination or shop-pickup preference.
Confirm the details before fabrication.

Pins for the digging bucket are sold separately. Include that requirement when requesting a quote, and ask the shop to confirm any detail you cannot establish from the guide.
